My most anticipated game of the fall!

I had never really played an MMO until Star Wars Galaxies. I reserved Galaxies, got it the day it came out, and then played until SOE decided it hated half of the player base it had and instituted the “combat upgrade” and the “NGE”. When the “combat upgrade” or CU was instituted I left the game shortly there after. Since I had gotten a taste of a MMO and was now MMO’less I was looking for something to help fill that gap. I don’t remember who but I think it was Ian stumbled on Guild Wars. I do remember that Ian had purchased it first and that after watching him play I went out and immediately purchased the game. Aside from being fun it was free to play, after you purchased the initial game of course, and that was great because I never felt like I “had” to play the game because I was paying a fee every month. I could play on and off again at my leisure. I ended up buying all the expansions for the game and enjoyed every one.
Now comes Guild Wars 2. It’s been in production for quite some time and I remember seeing concept art of it a couple years ago. I was interested because of how fun Guild Wars was but after watching Alexrediculous’s video on it I’m really interested. The game looks beautiful, and while graphics most certainly aren’t everything they sure as hell help. Second the combat sounds fun and addictive. I had completely forgotten about Guild Wars up until this point and Alexrediculous did a fantastic job of getting me thrilled for this game.

So a couple weeks ago we captured our first ever Mortal Kombat tag match. We’ve played tag matches before, but it had been a week or so since we last played, so we were pretty rusty with our moves. It was me (Ian/I CuBBs – Jade) and Mike (M DuBBs – Mileena) vs. Justin (RedDuey – Johnny Cage) and Javier (Hanzozuken – Noob Saibot). We don’t have any commentary yet, but look to us posting somemore tag matches with commentary, complete with “Oooo!”s and “Oh!”s and shit talking. Enjoy!

I watch a lot of youtube videos, mainly at work, and lately I’ve been watching a lot of Battlefield Bad Company 2 vids. Like any vid you watch on youtube there a trolls – trolling like their useless lives depended on it. Using up all the decent people’s air breathing there disgusting troll breaths and taking satisfaction in ruining other peoples days. On BFBC2 vids though you get your regular trolls and the special kind of PC elitist trolls. Those special PC trolls that call you a 1337 n00bsor for playing on a console, or telling you “you’d get wrecked on PC”, or “Nice autoaim loser!”. And for you assholes DCRU Colin has made a lovely song that should resonate with you.
I should note that this is for PC trolls AND console trolls only, not decent people who respect the decision to play on a different system. This PC/console cheerleader crap needs to stop. People play on their system of preference. I play on console because I feel more comfortable playing with a controller in my hand and generally speaking its cheaper than PC. I grew up playing console games so I’m more used to console games. If you play on PC, Xbox, or PS3 and love it, great, have fun doing what you enjoy. Just don’t bash others because they have a different preference.

So about a month ago I finally broke down and picked up a capture card (techincally a box). My first order of business was to capture some of the craziness that happens in Saint’s Row 2. Granted the game is old, but during lull of good games, Justin and I returned to the Row for our homies. Check out our first video below and get ready to see some more in the very near future!
